Ube Kinampay Powder

Taste the purple magic of the Philippines.    Made from 100% real ube kinampay — Royal Purple Yam — this powder brings the sweet, nutty, and creamy taste of the islands to your kitchen.

You’ll need:

  • 50 g Masarap Ube Kinampay Powder
  • 100 g sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 150 g water

How to make it:

  1. Combine the ube powder and sugar in a saucepan.
  2. Gradually pour in the water while stirring continuously to prevent lumps from forming.
  3. Place over low to medium heat and continue stirring until the mixture becomes smooth, silky, and velvety.
  4. Allow the mixture to gently simmer for 2–3 minutes, continuing to stir.
  5. Once the desired thickness is reached, immediately transfer the mixture to a bowl.
  6. Blast Chill or Place the bowl over an ice bath to cool rapidly. This helps preserve the
  7. delicate flavour and vibrant colour of the ube while preventing further cooking.

Masarap Tip

  • Blast chilling is a professional technique that helps maintain the best texture, flavour, and colour.
