Whole Taro

You’ll need:

  • 1 packet Masarap Frozen Whole Taro, thawed
  • 2-3 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Fine salt to taste
  • Optional seasoning: garlic powder,
    cheese powder, or chili powder

How to make it:

  1. Slice Thinly: 
    • Peel and slice the thawed taro as thinly as possible (use a mandoline if available).
  2. Rinse and Dry: 
    • Rinse the taro slices in cold water to remove excess starch.
    • Dry thoroughly.
  3. Fry: 
    • Heat the oil in a wok or deep pan to 170°C (340°F).
    • Fry the taro slices in small batches until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Season: 
    • Remove and drain the chips.
    • Immediately season with salt and optional spices while hot.
