Turon (Filipino Banana Spring Rolls)

Saba Banana

Sweet Saba bananas, frozen and ready to be cooked into Filipino favourite snacks. Made from 100% real saba banana — Grown in the tropical regions of the Philippines, Saba bananas are a versatile fruit loved for their sweet, creamy flavor and firm texture.

You’ll need:

  • <span data-metadata="“><span data-buffer="“>1 packet Frozen Saba Banana Masarap, thawed and sliced lengthwise 
  • <span data-metadata="“><span data-buffer="“>8 spring roll wrappers
  • <span data-metadata="“><span data-buffer="“>1/4 cup muscovado sugar
    (or brown sugar) 
  • <span data-metadata="“><span data-buffer="“>2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)

How to make it:

  1. Sugar the Banana:
    • Roll the banana slices in the muscovado sugar.
  2. Wrap: 
    • Place the sugared banana near the edge of a spring roll wrapper.
    • Fold the sides inward, then roll up tightly.
    • Moisten the edge with a little water to seal.
  3. Fry: Heat the oil. 
    • Fry the Turon until golden brown and crispy.
    • Remove.
  4. Caramelise (Optional): 
    • Reduce the heat and cook the remaining sugar in the pan until it turns into a syrup.
    • Return the Turon and quickly roll to coat them in the caramel.
    • Freshly grated young coconut flesh, frozen for convenience, perfect for smoothies, desserts, and healthy snacks.

Masarap Tip: Add a small strip of jackfruit next to the banana before wrapping for an extra authentic flavour.
